Singer Chinmayi had filed a complaint on Oct 18 with the Cop regarding online harassment on a social networking site. The cops have arrested an associate professor at the National Institute of Fashion Technology and another person working in the Tirupur Collectorate. Police are searching for three more persons.
Chinmayi has complained that the online harassment started two years ago now it has turned up into posting vulgar comments not only about her but also about her mother.
Based on her complaint, a case was registered under section 66-A of the Information Technology Act and Section 4 of Prevention of Women Harassment Act by the Cyber Crime Cell of Chennai City Police. Special teams have been sent to Puducherry to nab another suspect.
