Anushka will be playing the lead role in a historic Telugu film titled Rani Rudrama Devi. Gunasekhar directs this film which is based on the life of Rani Rudrama Devi, who was a ruling queen in the Kakatiya dynasty in the Deccan Plateau. Gunasekhar is known for his films with Mahesh Babu like Okkadu, Sainikudu and Arjun.
The film will be shot in stereoscopic 3D format and this would be the first historical film in India to be shot in stereoscopic 3D. Thotta Tharani would be the art director while Maestro Ilaiyaraja will compose music for this grand film which would be produced by the director himself.
The movie’s launch is set to happen in February 2013 and currently pre-production work is going on.
