Taapsee Pannu is having a slow and steady rise in the Tamil industry after a sparkling debut with Dhanush's Aadukalam. She is currently playing the role of a journalist in the untitled Ajith - Vishnuvardhan film. In her other Tamil - Telugu bilingual which is titled Maranthen Mannithen in Tamil, she is playing a village belle which is in stark contrast to the modern roles she has played so far in her career. Taapsee has given a very realistic performance in this film and expects it to bring her good name in the Tamil industry.
She is also eyeing other female oriented films and even films involving physically challenged characters. She is particularly eager to play a blind or mute character in one of her upcoming films and prove her skills.
