Ajith replaces Arjun in Mankatha?

When Venkat Prabhu was asked if he has plans to take his blockbuster 2011 movie Mankatha to Bollywood as well, he had something exciting to share. This happened during a recent episode of the game show that he hosts for a private channel. This is what Venkat had to say

"Some Bollywood representatives have expressed an interest in doing the Hindi version of Mankatha and I suggested to them if Ajith can play the role enacted by Arjun in the Tamil original. They were also excited by this prospect but nothing is certain as of now. It just remains a part of my wishlist as of now"

If Venkat's plans bear fruition, fans will be able to see Ajith filling Arjun’s shoes in the Hindi version and it would also be a unique distinction for Ajith as he would get to play two different roles in the two versions of the movie like how Vikram did in the Tamil and Hindi versions of Mani Ratnam’s Raavanan / Raavan.

But when we contacted sources close to Ajith, they denied any such development regarding the Hindi remake of Mankatha

Vijay's silver jubilee

Post the success of Vijay’s Google Google, it looks like the actor is taking his singing career seriously. We hear Vijay is practicing hard for a song he will croon for AL Vijay’s project. This is his 25^th song and GV Prakash has composed it.

The team is in Mumbai for the first schedule. This is Vijay’s second consecutive film that’s being shot in the city, post Thuppakki. Amala Paul has just joined the crew and AL Vijay’s other regulars, Santhanam and Nassar, will also be a part of the film.

Billa and Ranga are sold

Studio Green has purchased the rights of the upcoming Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga and the movie will be released in the first half of 2013. This movie is directed by Pandiraj and features two young heroes in Vimal and Siva Karthikeyan. Bindu Madhavi and Regina Cassandra are the female interests in this movie and Yuvan Shankar Raja composes music.

This is a romantic comedy set in Trichy and the audiences can expect a healthy entertainer given Pandiraj’s track record of delivering clean and enjoyable family entertainers. Parotta Suri and Thambi Ramiah are also there to add to the humour quotient.

Karthi's New Look For Biriyani

Actor Karthi has gone for a complete makeover for his new film Biriyani, which is being directed by Venkat Prabhu. Hansika is paired opposite Karthi in the film and the film went on floors recently.

Director Venkat Prabhu had tweeted "Biriyani shoot started yesterday!!! Going smooth guys!!! All gals be ready for Karthi's new look!! It's gonna be a treat!!" This has raised the expectations of Karthi's female fans.

Premji Amaran, Prasanna and Sneha also play important roles in the film. Yuvan Shankar Raja scores music for the film. The first look of the film is expected be released on Diwali.

Vishwaroopam Auro 3D Trailer Released

As we had already reported, Kamal Haasan launched Vishwaroopam's Auro 3D trailer today. Kamal Haasan met the press today at Sathyam Cinemas and released the trailer.


The first short trailer was shown in normal format. Then, a longer trailer in Auro 3D was shown to the media. Our sources tell us that the sound effects were mind-blowing. The film will be screened with Auro 3D effects in 25-30 screens. The theatres are being equipped to enable the same. Over all, Vishwaroopam will go for more than 3000 prints.  

Kamal Haasan stated that Vishwaroopam will not be against any religion and it will try to find out the reasons behind terrorism. Watch this space for the latest trailer !

Kajal's Interesting Role In Thuppakki

As Vijay's Thuppakki is gearing up for a grand release on November 13th for Diwali, we have got some interesting news for the fans. We are going to throw some light on Kajal Agarwal's role in the film.

Kajal Agarwal is paired opposite Vijay in the film and she will don the role of a boxer in the film.  Our soruces tell us that Kajal did a lot of homework to enact the role convincingly.

She had watched the videos of boxer Mary Kom, who won the Olympic medal for India recently. This had helped Kajal when she had to perform a boxing scene. Kudos to Kajal's efforts and we wish her hard work pays off!
